On March 23, 2023, Bayern Munich appointed former Chelsea manager Thomas Tuchel as their head coach.
Thomas Tuchel replaces Julian Nagelsmann, who was reportedly fired minutes before the news went viral that Tuchel will lead Bayern.
According to Italian transfer news analyst Fabrizio Romano, Bayern Munich and Tuchel have achieved a “complete agreement” and the German strategist has accepted the position.
“Contract agreed, documentation are being prepared tonight,” Fabrizio tweeted about 10:00 PM (WAT).
As of this report, the club has not announced contract terms, length, or targets.
Nagelsmann was fired days after Bayern Munich lost 2-1 to Bayern Leverkusen.
Borussia Dortmund trounced Koln 6-1 the following day.
So, Bayern Munich entered the March international break with 52 points in 25 games, a point behind Dortmund.
Thomas Tuchel, who won the UEFA Champions League, Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup at Chelsea, would lead Bayern Munich into the Champions League quarterfinals against Manchester City.
Bayern will face City at the Etihad on April 11 and in Germany on April 19.
In the semi-finals, Germany will play Real Madrid or Chelsea.
