The Governor of Kano State, Alhaji Kabir Yusuf, has instructed all 19 Commissioner nominees to follow the code of conduct rules.
The nominees must declare their assets before their screening at the State Assembly. The Governor stated that no commissioner nominee will be sworn in without filling out the asset declaration form from the Code of Conduct Bureau.
He also emphasized that all other political appointees must comply with this directive. Governor Kabir Yusuf is committed to transparency and accountability, which are the basic principles of his administration. He promised to champion good governance as he had promised during his election campaign.
The Governor also plans to publish the names of individuals who allegedly received illegal land allocations from the former governor, Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, at the Kano Polytechnic. He expressed his concerns regarding the misuse of public property and his commitment to restoring the lost glory of the tertiary institution. He plans to disclose the names of other beneficiaries who had allegedly misused lands designated for educational purposes.
