Gunmen shoot three dead in Edo community

Three people were reportedly killed in the Uselu-Nahor community in the Uhunmwonde local government area of Edo state on Wednesday following a leadership fight.

Police spokesman Katongs Bello confirmed the incident but said he did not yet have further details.

The Nigerian News Agency (NAN) reported that the gunmen attacked the victims, one of whom was the community security chief, at his duty post in Ahor Kara.

The deceased were collecting vehicle parking fees when the gunmen opened fire on them, killing all three on the spot.

Community sources attributed the development to the ongoing leadership struggle in the community.

NAN deduced that residents and shop owners hurriedly fled the scene.
