H-U-R-R-A-Y!!! GOVERNOR ABDULRAHAMAN ABDULRASAQ @ 61 by Comrade Abdul-Rahoof Bello (POLITICAL ANALYST AND PUBLIC AFFAIRS COMMENTATOR)

Your Excellency, kindly oblige me to deviate from the existing protocols of congratulatory messages on your birthday. I make a detour because all I have been reading are flattering compliments, full of insincerity and empty in inspiration for a moment like this.

Sir, I see this occasion as one that demands a sober reflections on your journey through life from childhood to date. You need an objective self-assessment to determine how much you have accomplished and how harder you needed to work to cover the deficits in line with your purpose of creation!

Chief Obafemi Awolowo says: “It isn’t life that matters but the courage you bring into it”. In the same vein, Abraham Lincoln admonished that: “In the end, it is not the years in your life that count, it’s the life in your years that matters.”

Synthesising these legendary opinions, it is thoughtful of any genuine lover and admirer of Your Excellency to address your mind to lingering crises in your political family, with a view to finding solutions to them.

Truth be told, public opinion and sympathy are not in the favour of Your Excellency on the issues involved for obvious circumstantial evidence bordering on sense of gratitude; justice and fairness, not seen to have been demonstrated by Your Excellency to other major stakeholders.

Honestly, the talk of the town and in hush voices in government circle is that Your Excellency is hellbent on taking control of the APC in order to appropriate the *O To Gee* victory to become a *benevolent dictator* to be more precarious than the one replaced by you.

The public is puzzled by the alarming rates at which governance is becoming a monolithic Sole Proprietorship.

This phenomenon is fleshing the skeleton of conjecture about why Your Excellency had to open a quarrel with other stakeholders whose sweat and blood delivered the victory that Your Excellency now savoir.

Your Excellency, wouldn’t it better to pause and ponder on what history and posterity shall say about when it eventually stops to rain? Sir, as the Chief Accounting Officer on whose table every buck stops, is it not advisable to divest from a venture that yields no one any good?

While praying for many more fruitful years ahead for you, in robust health and happiness, to offer more services to your God and humanity, kindly be reminded to “believe all but trust few”, because those who shout Hosanna for you today may turn round to shout *”crucify him”* tomorrow. Such is life!

Wishing Your Excellency many happy returns of the day 🎂🎉🎁🎊
