the ongoing Lagos economics summit 2021 title Eghingbeti Lagos Economic Summit 2021, with the theme “Setting the tone for a greater Lagos.” Opened yesterday in Lagos.

President Muhammadu Buhari, Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu the newly appointed director general of the world trade organization (WTO) Dr. Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, and the president of African Development bank (AFDB), Dr. Akinwunmi Adesina , all lend their voices to the development of the youth as panacea to the development of the state.

In his goodwill massage, the president said the federal government is ever ready to partner with the state in area of infrastructural development in other for the state to achieve it full potential and its projection for a smart city status.

The president said  his administration will support massive investment in the state to enable it boost it economic potential as one of the fastest growing economy in the world. The federal government commended the state government for put a summit of this magnitude that will directly improve the lives of the citizens.

The president commended Governor Sanwo-olu for the developmental stride in the state, and as he said the federal government has a lot of ongoing projects in the state.

In her words the newly appointed Director- General of world trade organization admonished lagos state to embrace artificial intelligence and digital economy, she said building roads are good, the state should invest in technology, by providing broadband for every household, and also invest in electricity and renewable energy, in other for the state to remain competitive in the next decade.

She also said the state should provide employment for the youth.

The president of African development bank. Asked the state to role out a program that will impact the youth, and he ask the government to invest in education by turning the tertiary institution in the state to a world class institutions.

In his remark, the Lagos state government said the ongoing technology revolution in the state is first of its kind in this part of the world, he said the ongoing optic fiber laying will carry broadband into houses, which will bring internet closer to the people for better development.
