Bola Tinubu, the newly elected president of Nigeria, thanked the world leaders who had congratulated him on his victory in the presidential election on February 25 in a message on Sunday.
In addition to praising them for opening their arms to friendship, Tinubu promised to do the same by cooperating with them, declaring, “The Nigerian Eagle shall fly.”
According to AGN, Tinubu has been receiving congratulations from foreign leaders, including the presidents of the United States, the United Britain, the Ukraine, and Rishi Sunak, among others.
Following his victories against Peter Obi of the LP and Atiku Abubakar of the PDP, the former governor of Lagos State was named the winner of the February presidential election by the INEC.
But, Tinubu stated, “I greatly appreciate the congratulatory sentiments that have come in from friends and well-wishers from home and abroad,” in a post sent via his Twitter account over the weekend. It would be impossible for me to list everyone by name due to the volume of the messages of support and goodwill.
“I am especially appreciative of the many world leaders from our African neighbors, our Commonwealth friends, and from other regions of the world who congratulated me on my election with encouraging comments.
“This is a fantastic time to believe in the Nigerian dream and in our rekindled optimism. Nigeria’s eagle will soar high.
