President Bola Ahmed Tinubu unexpectedly stopped in Paris, France after attending the 78th session of the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.
This stopover was not part of his original travel plans. Sources familiar with his schedule revealed that Tinubu traveled to Paris for undisclosed reasons. The presidency has not provided any information about the purpose of his stopover.
It is believed that he may not return to Nigeria until Thursday of this week. Despite previous statements indicating that Tinubu would meet with US President Joe Biden at UNGA, the meeting did not take place and no official reasons were given.
Last week, it was reported that five governors and seven ministers were part of Tinubu’s delegation to UNGA, which is his first as the Nigerian leader. The delegation included various government officials and ministers. Most of these officials have already returned to Nigeria.
