The Joint Taskforce of Northwest Operation Hadarin Daji has successfully neutralized several bandits in a recent clearance operation around Kagara, Gidan Fadama, Gangara, Tseika, Malamawa, and Zango Kamarawa general areas, located under Talata Mafara and Shinkafi Local Government Areas in Zamfara state.
According to reports, the troops embarked on clearance operations on Tuesday and Wednesday, engaging the terrorists in a fierce gun battle, killing several bandits, and destroying their camps and hideouts. The operation was a resounding success, with the troops recovering 1 Rocket Propeller Grenade (RPG), 1 PKT Machine Gun with several live ammunitions, 3 AK-47 rifles, and destroying 19 motorcycles belonging to the terrorists.
In addition, the troops conducted an aggressive fight patrol along Dogon Awo – Lamba Bakura axis under Bakura Local Government Area, foiling a bandit attack along the Sokoto highway. The bandits had earlier blocked the ever-busy Sokoto – Gusau highway with the intention of abducting commuters, but the army troops quickly mobilized to the location and cleared the highway for road users.
