When a portion of the state high court complex collapsed on Justice Oyewole Adeyeye, the chief judge of Ekiti State, he narrowly avoided death on Wednesday.
Justice Adeyeye is reportedly receiving medical care at an unnamed hospital in the state right now.
On Wednesday, the incident took place right before work ended. At the time of the collapse, the judge was still in his chamber.
The incident might not be unrelated to a structural deficit made worse by the torrential downpour.
No one was killed in the collapse, but the Chief Judge reportedly suffered serious injuries when a portion of the office fell on top of him.
Before the judge could be pulled from the rubble, workers had to put forth significant effort.
The Registrar, through a staff member, requested that journalists return later, so a trip to the office to obtain more information was unsuccessful.
