Abdulrasheed Bawa, the current chairman of the Economic and Financial Crime Commission EFCC said on Tuesday said that from June 1 the commission will be demanding the asset declaration forms of all bankers.
The chairman said the latest development is in line with the provision of the Bank, Employee Declaration of Asset Act, this position was made known to the public after Bawa had a meeting with the President, President Muhammadu Buhari
The commission boss also said he was chanting a new course for the commission, in order to create a new commission that would be miles away from the way it used to handle cases.
The EFCC boss said he would do all he can to reap the country of financial crimes and make sure the country is free from all corrupt cases.
In his word, “The EFCC, come June 1, 2021, will be demanding for this asset declaration forms, filled by the bankers so that the line that we have drawn from June 1 is really complied with by bankers in particular.”
He was asked why the commission is after the cybercriminals, popularly known as yahoo boys, Bawa, said, “Their activities are chasing investors away”
