The Christian Association of Nigeria has intensified discussions with bandits to free the 83 remaining students of Bethel Baptist College, Kaduna, who were abducted about three weeks ago.
The Chairman of CAN in Kaduna State and its Vice President (19 Northern States and Abuja), Rev. John Joseph Hayab, said this in an interview with THE PUNCH on Wednesday.
“We negotiated with the bandits and got some of them released. We are still talking with the bandits to release the remaining 83 in their custody,” he said.
Recall that four more students of the school were released after spending 20 days in the den of bandits.
After successfully escaping from their captors on Sunday, one of the children fell into the hands of another criminal.
The child, according to Hayab, was freed after the payment of N130,000, telephone and SIM card.
